Iskra Handpan Series

Handpans for All Desires and Budgets

Our flagship series and brand, known generally as the Iskra, has been offered for nearly 2 years.  We are now happy to introduce two more models of the Iskra.  The main criteria for each model is the degree of tuning and blending of each note and the instrument in its entirety.   While most sound models / tuning will be offered on all series of the Iskra, the D Minor is no offered on the Iskra ‘Motif’.

The Iskra ‘Motif’ is geared towards handpan players who are seeking a high-quality, well-tuned handpan for a very competitive price.  Many handpans in this price range are poorly tuned, or sometimes not tuned at all!  Many people fall prey to these instruments because of their lower prices, but quickly realize their mistake.  We hope that we can prevent further disappointment for newer handpan players by offering true handpans for similar prices.  Please note that some sound models are not offered on the Iskra ‘Motif’.

The Iskra ‘Artisan’ is on the other end of the spectrum.  All handpans are tuned entirely by hand.  Machines simply cannot replace a human for the complex task of tuning.  This human element means that every once in a while an Iskra handpan will be born that shines out amongst the others.  An ‘Artisan’ series Iskra will have exceptional tonal characteristics, stunning stability, and beautiful shoulder tones.  Iskra Artisan series handpans can’t be built on purpose, so their stock status will vary widely.
